Court Ruling Limits Employment Drug Testing
This comes to us from the San Francisco Chronicle. The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco ruled that a city can't require all job applicants to be tested for narcotics and must instead show why drug use in a particular job would be dangerous. This case arose in Woodburn, OR and was brought by a woman who applied for a job with the city library and was denied employment because she refused to submit to a Substance Abuse test.
